Residence permit

Residence permits for work in Romania

We obtain and renew the single permit for your non-EU employees: we check the documents, prepare the file, book the IGI appointment and accompany them until the card is collected. You don't lose working days.

What it's for

Why the residence permit matters

01

The work visa only covers the first 90 days

Workers enter Romania on a long-stay employment visa (D/AM). To stay and work legally after that, they need the single permit issued by the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI).

02

Without a permit, the stay becomes illegal

If the application isn't filed on time, the worker loses the right to stay and can no longer work. The company risks penalties and loses the person it invested in.

03

It must be renewed periodically

The permit has limited validity and the renewal must be filed at least 30 days before it expires. We track the deadlines for every employee.

04

Changes must be reported to the IGI

A new employer, a different role or a new address can require extra documents or an updated permit. We help you get it right the first time.

How it works

5 steps, from documents to card

1We review the case

Passport, visa, contract, address and deadlines - all checked before anyone travels.

2We prepare the file

The document list, the completed forms and a check of every document.

3IGI appointment

Booked online, at the right time before the visa or permit expires.

4Submission

We accompany the employee to the IGI, where the file is submitted and the photo and fingerprints are taken.

5Permit collection

We follow the file, tell you when the card is ready and note the next renewal date.

Documents

Documents usually required

From the employee

  • Valid passport with the long-stay employment visa

  • Health insurance
  • Proof of fee payment

From the company

  • Employment contract registered in REVISAL
  • Work permit (aviz de muncă)

Why it matters

What happens if the deadline is missed

01

The employee loses the legal right to stay and can no longer work.

02

The company can be penalized for employing a foreign national without legal residence.

03

Restarting the procedure costs time, money and often the worker.
